SOVL REPORT: How to Make 'meh' or 'mid' Tracks into some π₯π₯π₯
SO, take a look at your beat catalog for a second. Not the one on BeatStars or Soundcloud or wherever, but the one sitting on the machine that no-one has heard yet..
Yo, Whatβs up Forum!
So, take a look at your beat catalog for a second.
Not the one on BeatStars or Soundcloud or wherever, but the un-released ones sitting on your hard drive.
yup,
I want you to dig into the collection of so-called 'Throwaway' beats you have sitting on your hard drive.
Yeah all the 'mid beats'
make them into some LOUD
Believe it or not, there are 2 simple ways to make a super 'mid' beat skeleton/concept/loop into something dope..
1. Mix (of course) and arrange it
2. Get it in front of the RIGHT client.
-----
So when I say 'arrange it I also mean :
Adding movement via effects/transitions/automation
silencing and muting parts
filling in the gaps * - sometimes there might be a small section or part that needs some 'ear candy' or another musical accent..
There's an arrangement 'formula' that works you can find it here.
But honestly, WE are more critical of the music than the audience will be, so you're better off taking the skeletons that you DON'T like...
and making them into full songs...
You might find that that concept that wasnβt all that 'great' was actually the vibe once you 'finished it
and the second part of that is getting that finished track in front of the right person...
if THEY like it.
BOOM
instantaneous greatness.
Unless you're confident in your beats AND your ability to sell what YOU think is fire...
chances are your products are going to be at the whim of the market.
So if the MARKET thinks itβs great.. then it is...
Whether you like it or not...
So go ...
Believe in yourself and pull that heat off your HD and release it!
